Christie Mueller

President & Chief

Since 1985, Christie Mueller has built a reputation on her in-depth knowledge of retirement accumulation and distribution strategies. With over two thousand clients in the Pacific Northwest, Christie empowers her clients to create financial security and enjoy a higher quality of life. Christie’s clients value her integrity, experience and commitment.

Experience- Christie is the top agent at New York Life. In 2016, Christie was awarded the title of Council President, and is recognized as the #1 agent in the company. In 2015 she was named Council Vice President, the #2 agent in the company. This back-to-back recognition last occurred in 1985.

For over 30 years, Christie’s passion for making a difference in the lives of her clients has helped countless individuals achieve their financial goals. She provides guidance in the areas of asset accumulation—building towards a sound financial future; and distribution strategies—ensuring a comfortable retirement for the clients she serves.

Christie frequently speaks to business leaders offering ideas on how highly successful people think. She has been featured on the covers of magazines including Washington CEO in connection with an article about “Million Dollar Women”, Life Insurance Selling Magazine about her successful strategies on retirement planning for baby boomers, and The NYLIC Review. She was a finalist for the “Nellie Cashman”, the prestigious Women Business Owner of the Year award presented by the Seattle Women Business Owners Association. In 2013 Christie was one of 14 national financial professionals spotlighted in the book “Retirement Income Masters” written by Tom Hegna.

Before joining New York Life in 1985, Christie worked as a television news anchor and reporter for ten years at CBS television stations on the west coast. During that time, she won a news and documentary Emmy for her breaking news story about flooding in Portland, Oregon.

She is a graduate of the University of California Santa Barbara with a degree in English Literature. Born in Des Moines, Iowa and raised in Southern California, Christie now lives in a waterfront home on Lake Washington, just a short commute to her offices in Renton and Bellevue, WA.

Jannette Miller

Registered Service Assistant

Jann has been a fundamental member of the Mueller & Associates team since 2001. She earned her life license and FINRA securities  licenses 6 and 63  in 2006 to become a Registered Service Assistant.

Jann has earned clients trust through her knowledge and commitment to providing outstanding and efficient customer care. They know they can count on her to provide the attention and service they need, when they need it.

Jann lives in Kent, Washington, where she enjoys walking for exercise and riding her bicycle.

Tom Steele

Director of Client Services

Tom Steele is a key frontline player at Mueller & Associates. He builds strong client relationships and plays an integral role in the office’s success.

Before joining the team in March of 2016, Tom was one of the strategic people responsible for on-air fundraising at the Seattle PBS station. It was there where he first met and worked with Christie, who often volunteered her time as one of the hosts for the televised pledge drives.

Beyond work, one of Tom’s many passions is overseeing the restoration a prestigious 1914 Carnegie Library building, located in his home town of Auburn, Washington. The building is listed on the National Registry of Historic Buildings and, to date, he has successfully written and secured eight grants totaling the sum of nearly $200,000.
